The cover said this book was addictive and it wasn't lying, I finished this book in less than 24 hours which is good going for me. June is deliciously unlikeable, there are points when you think she turns a corner, but nope her vindictive self assurance will just not let her back down. The ending is fantastic, and the focus on socail media call outs and their weaponisation was awesome. Very recommended.

The Midnight Shift is a beautiful slow burn. At first I wasn't sure I wasn't really following, but that was due to my own ignorance, and possibly the narrative drawing you in bit by bit. It's beautiful and affecting in the way it approaches aging, loss, greif and longing. I want to spend more time in this world, and in Cheon Seon-Ran's works.
